Bon Weekend!

What are your plans for the weekend? John and I realized that since we moved to Austin two years ago, we haven't really explored outside of Austin all that much. We have visited San Antonio, Bastrop, Smithville, Houston and hit up Dallas for a 24 hour jaunt so far, but other than that, it's been home sweet home. SO, we booked a weekend trip to Houston on the fly to visit my baby brother and some pals. Any Texas spots that you all recommend? We are clueless where to go in this great state. Hope you all have a grrrreat weekend!

Some fun weekend reading...enjoy the winks (weekend links)!

+ Beauty junkies rejoice! Bobbi Brown is launching a Youtube channel.

+ Perfumes with really pretty packaging...

+ Because they're shiny and I can't resist a good flat.

+ Loved Joanna's NYFW street style snaps. I also suddenly feel the need to get some colorful reflective sunglasses ASAP.

+ Yep, I have a clinically diagnosed case of FOMO.

+ My friend Lauren is giving away a cute BabaSouk basket on her blog...enter, y'all!

+ Enjoying this new font. This one too.

+ I'm psyched about this new series by the super talented Ashley from Sugar & Cloth.

  2. Fredricksburg for a little small town shopping, cute date spots and b&bs. New Braunfels to float the Comal and visit the sweet little downtown. Our favorite thing to do is just drive through the hill country west of here and enjoy the views! Especially in the spring. Oh and Horseshoe Bay on Lake LBJ. I'll have to think of all of our favorite places to eat. You'll find a lot of heart attack cafes, but we've discovered a few gems here and there!

  3. Along with Fredricksburg, I would visit Gruene (pronounced Green, like the color). It's really close to New Braunfels. Also, Wimberley. I went there when I was a kid, and I remember it being a cute town. Don't take my word on that though, but it's something to look into. If you're looking for a Texas road trip, then I would recommend going to South Padre Island (not in Corpus). SPI is as far south as it gets, and is in the same area where I live!

  4. - Port Aransas for some dirty hot bath water, but hey you'll get amazing beach hair.
    - Abilene for the best thrifting and furniture hunting of your life. Oil boom rich folks are old and sadly passing away, which makes for great estate sales. Sad but true.
    - Pleasanton,TX - BIRTHPLACE OF THE COWBOY aka where I was born and raised! Go to the annual Cowboy Homecoming Festival (I'll be there ; ) ), rodeos, country music and an awesome small town parade.
