As some of you may or may not know, John and I said sayonara to Boston in May and temporarily moved to Mystic, Connecticut. So what is there to do in this coastal New England town aside from noshing on lobster rolls from Abbott's, touring the Seaport, and relaxing on the sandy shores? You can add swoon over the new boutique Webster Road. I no joke went into like spastic seizure mode from the overwhelming awesomeness of this little boutique in quaint downtown Mystic. The shelves are stocked with Jonathan Adler wares, inspiring books (I bought this DIY Delicious one!), perfect throw pillows and other home decor, beautiful pottery from Jill Rosenwald, intoxicatingly delicious candles, stationary from Rifle Paper Co, and amazing crafty items from Yellow Owl Workshop. I really am only skimming the surface here...if any of you New England lovelies are planning to take a weekend trip up here, please do make it a point to check this lovely boutique out!

Hyden Yoo, an NYC-based designer of contemporary men’s and women’s clothing, caught my eye with their relaxed but tailored sportswear. While their online shop selection is limited, there are some great summer pieces in there that could easily add some 'pop' to your existing wardrobe basics. The line seems to weigh a bit heavier on the menswear side, but hey...there is nothing wrong about borrowing from the boys department!
If you are of the XY chromosome variety and reading this blog (which makes you extra special since you are probably my one and only), please do check out their selection of dapper duds for dudes. I seriously want to snap up this entire collection for my hubby...he would look so handsome in this jacket, shirt, and sweater!

Currently loving these animal prints by super talented artist/illustrator Anna See. She also offers an array of fashion prints - primarily portraying sexy designer stilettos...ooh la la! A dash of wildlife, a dash of glamour...her Etsy shop has a print for each. Just take your pick!

Founded in 2007 by two vintage-loving sisters with extremely cool names (Satu and Celeste), Tuleste Market accessories and shoes are all inspired by reworking their vintage finds with a modern sensibility. This love of vintage drove the sisters to travel around the world visiting and array of international cities known for style, culture, and a zest for life. Wherever the duo went they amassed a carefully edited wardrobe of timeless vintage pieces. If I promise not to bitch about jet lag and complain that my feet hurt after all that style scoping....can I come too? ;)

Get inspired, start (or finish!) a DIY project, call a long lost friend, have a picnic in the park, visit your grandparents, volunteer at a shelter, or -in my case- help pack up moving boxes....whatever you do this weekend, I hope it's a good one!

Where in the world was TMT this past weekend? NYC, dear readers! I must apologize for the momentary disappearance...the trip was planned on the fly, and a mere 12 hours after suggesting this weekend is the one to visit the city, we were stepping off the train into Grand Central Station! The hubby and I had the most amazing time there. We stayed at On The Ave hotel on the Upper West Side, which I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice and decently priced room (for NYC) in a conveniently located neighborhood.
We hit up a J.Crew sample sale, where the hubs got some shirts and gorgeous leather dress shoes for a mere $60! We then wandered down through the farmer's market at Union Square, ate tasty gyros and fresh lemonade from a street vendor in Washington Square, and spent a long time perusing all the shops on Broadway in SoHo (ABC Carpet, Muji, and Pearl River were some of my faves. Topshop, surprisingly, was a rather hellish experience.) The following day, we met up with the always lovely Mariah from Quite Continental in the Meatpacking District…..after we filled our bellies with guac and fish tacos, we walked the Highline and hung out on the waterfront.
Now for my fave part of the trip – the food! I can safely say that we ate our way through the city, from uptown to downtown. Here are some of my fave restaurants and cafes and the food we noshed on.
Momoya: I honestly couldn't have asked for a better sushi dinner. We started off the meal with the sweet miso cod - it is cooked to perfection, and melts in your mouth. We then ordered the crunchy salmon roll (good, but would skip it next time), the Greenwich roll (yum!), and the fresh spring sushi roll (aaaaaaaahhhhmazing). Topped it off with the chocolate cake with shiso sauce and green tea ice cream. My tastebuds might have exploded...that is how good it was.
Buddakan: The edamame dumplings here are seriously to die for. I could eat these for the rest of my life and be perfectly content. We also got a BoBo platter, which is a sampling of a few different appetizers. We split a pork entrée, which was tasty, but plan to try the lamb dish next time. The lady next to us kept on rolling her eyes back in ecstasy every time she took a bite of her dinner….definitely a weird reaction, but I’ll have what she’s having.
La Cremeria: This Little Italy gelato shop is fantastic…I got the pistachio gelato, and would highly recommend it. The shopkeeper, who had literally just come to America that month, kept teasing me about how to pronounce the PEES-TAK-E-O gelato I ordered….tsk tsk, I should’ve known better in Little Italy. ;)
Bouchon Bakery: The macarons. A selection of heavenly macarons in 6 scrumptious flavors. Need I say more?
So those were some of the main highlights during our 5 day stay in the Big Apple…what are some of YOUR fave spots in the city? Any places you just can't leave NYC without visiting?

You know when you come across something that so perfectly captures you that you don't know whether to laugh or be totally creeped out? For that reason alone, this Chronic Bitchface print by Kris Atomic is by far the most epic illustration I have ever seen. This, without a doubt, needs to be hanging on my office wall.

I am truly pathetic when it comes to email....I receive a hefty amount per day, and usually take eons to respond. Perhaps if it was a little more fun to send, I just might crack a smile each time my inbox pings with a new message instead of cowering in fear from the daily email influx. Here's where MeebleMail comes into play. MeebleMail transforms the ordinary look of everyday email into stylish stationery that inserts directly into Gmail, Windows Live/Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail. You can personalize designs by Trina Turk, Hammocks & High Tea (a personal fave!), Linda & Harriett, Jack and Lulu, and Boatman Gellar with your name, monogram, address or a motif. The price tag for pretty email? $4.99 per stationary design that is yours to own and use limitless for a year. Me gusta this idea mucho.

I am celebrating the wedding of my super cool cousin Toby and his beautiful bride Audrey this weekend in Austin, Texas! They are two peas in a pod, and I couldn't be happier for them. My mind is spinning with all the possibilities of what tomorrow will be like- I am so excited to see the beaming bride walk down the aisle (and what her dress looks like!), the groom's reaction (one of my fave parts), and take in all the fun little details that were thoughtfully planned for. In keeping with the theme of the weekend, I am leaving you with some of my fave wedding inspiration photos gathered from my Pinterest wedding board!

My nieces and nephews call my mom-in-law "Lala," and this print from Sparkle Power on Etsy almost feels custom made for them! It would be such a fun print in each of the kids' rooms. Now they just need to make a "Papa Love You," and then the kiddles are all set!

Bek used Sally Hansen 'Lickety-Split Lime', Jordana 'Hawaiian Flower', Milani 'Black Magic', and Milani White Canvas nail polish |
Today I am thrilled to introduce you to Goldfish Kiss, a super rad blog created by my pal Rebekah (aka Superbek). She is an all-around creative genius lucky enough to call Hawaii home, so naturally she is a bona fied beach guru when it comes to looking and feeling your best in the warm summer months. When I asked her to guest blog and she came back to me with the amazing idea of watermelon toes, I literally squealed with delight. Yes...squealed. Without further ado, here are her steps to this good-enough-to-eat DIY pedicure.
Watermelon. I love it so much I could eat it every day of the summer. Yet I have never been in a watermelon eating contest. If it happens one day, I will win. Anyways, I was thrilled to find a quick and easy way to bring this summertime staple to my toes which were in dire need of some cuteness. If i might say so myself, they turned out rather adorable (without being over the top). Plus, I have received not one, but four compliments from ladies in the past 48 hours, shocked that this was done at home (one of which was a lady next to me in yoga class so she had 90 minutes to get acquainted with my toes)...so I had to share.
Tools:
homemade dotting tool
green, pink, & black nail polish
white nail art brush or pen (Milani & Sally Hansen both make them - available at the drugstore)
green, pink, & black nail polish
white nail art brush or pen (Milani & Sally Hansen both make them - available at the drugstore)
1. Paint your toes with base coat
2. Apply 2 coats of a good watermelon-y pink color
3. Paint the tips of your toenails green with 1 to 2 coats - depending on how opaque your polish is ( tip: put a piece of paper under each toe as you paint so your skin doesn't get painted)
4. With your white nail art pen or brush, paint a thin line that goes where the pink and green meet.
5. Voila! you now have seedless watermelon toes. But that's no fun, we need seeds.
6. Using your dotting tool and black polish, place as many seeds as you'd like on each toe.
7. Let dry and cover with topcoat.
8. Enjoy the compliments, and painting the exact same toes for any jealous nieces, daughters, grand kids, or kids you nanny.
A BIG merci beaucoup to Kirsten for having me be a guest blogger on Triple Max Tons...enjoy!
